We are happy to announce that we are going to expand our offerings at the Ashtanga Shala to include Therapeutic Yoga classes for Seniors and those who are suffering or recovering from an injury. A holistic way to work towards our body, mind and spirit – this is an extension of our existing classes that is suitable for everyone. It will help people relax or recover or give themselves a break from fast paced life.
Yoga therapy will use asanas with prop, pranayama and meditation to help improve the mental and physical health. Yoga therapy offers immense benefits to people with physical health issues, it is known to treat people with body pain including muscle pain issues, back pain, blood pressure, breathing issues like asthma etc.
Yoga Therapy has been part of yoga world for a long time but it’s only in the recent past that this form of therapy has become mainstream.Y oga therapy has it’s origin in ancient practice of yoga and is part of the Ashtanga Yoga – the eight limbed path to manage our mind, body and spirit.
We are very pleased that Swati Samdani has agreed to teach Therapeutic/Yoga Classes for Seniors. Swati is a Certified Yoga Teacher and has been teaching for over 10 years. She has completed her 250 and 300 hours teacher trainings and has a Post Graduate Diploma in Yoga from Annamalai University. She specializes in Hatha, Power, Prenatal and Post-Natal Yoga.
Classes will be taught three times a week – Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 11:30am-12:30pm.
